Meet the fishermen behind our catch

Behind every piece of fish on our counter is a fisherman who got up before dawn, went out in all weathers and brought back the finest catch the Irish sea had to offer that day. At Seafood.ie we believe in knowing where our fish comes from and building real lasting relationships with the people who catch it. We work with a small carefully chosen group of Irish fishermen and suppliers who share our absolute commitment to quality, sustainability and honest fishing. We visit our suppliers, we know their boats, we know their names and we know their methods. This is not just a supply chain — it is a community of people who care deeply about the sea and everything it provides.

“When you buy from Seafood.ie you are not just buying fish – you are supporting the Irish fishing families who have worked these waters for generations”

Our wild hake comes from day boats working the waters off the west coast of Ireland — small vessels that go out and come back the same day, meaning the fish on our counter was in the sea less than twenty four hours ago. Our king scallops are hand dived by divers working the clean cold waters around the Irish coast — a sustainable method that leaves the seabed completely undisturbed. Our native oysters come from family-run oyster beds on the west coast, many of them managed by the same families for generations. Our organic salmon comes from certified Irish organic farms committed to the highest animal welfare and environmental standards. Every supplier we work with is chosen for the same reason — they produce the finest product in the most responsible way possible. When you order from Seafood.ie you are directly supporting these Irish fishing communities and the sustainable future of Irish seafood.
